The video filmed by Army Rangers has found it’s way to the public space. It shows a joint Special Operations assault force comprised of American Rangers and Afghan Special Security Forces raiding an ISIS stronghold in Afghanistan.

The operation took place on April 11, 2018, and resulted in the death of 22 ISIS militants. The operation occurred only six days after Qari Hekmatullah, the Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K) emir for northern Afghanistan, and his bodyguard were killed by a U.S. airstrike in Darzab on Apr. 5.

Since the beginning of 2018, persistent military pressure in Jowzjan province applied by Afghan and U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) have reduced IS-K to an isolated group of fighters devoid of leadership.
