Light Machine Guns

Light machine guns (LMGs) are a type of firearm that is designed for sustained, automatic fire. They are typically used by infantry soldiers to provide suppressing fire and can be carried and operated by a single person. Light machine guns are larger and heavier than assault rifles but are still portable and can be carried and used by a single soldier.

Light machine guns use intermediate cartridges, smaller than those used in full rifles but larger than those used in pistols. This allows for a high rate of fire and a longer effective range than assault rifles while still being lightweight and portable. Light machine guns typically have a detachable magazine or a belt feed and can be fired in either automatic or semi-automatic modes.
