First year of Russian Airborne operation in Syria through pictures

One year ago acting at the behest of the Syrian government Russia launched an airborne campaign against the Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) forces threatening the Middle Eastern country. Russian airborne assets deployed to Syria, supported by warships operating in the Caspian Sea and in the Mediterranean, helped turn the tide of the conflict and played a pivotal role in a number of important military operations conducted against Daesh by the Syrian Arab Army which managed to regain much of the territory previosly lost to the terrorists.

French Special Forces in Iraq

For more than two years, operators from the French Special Operations Command (C.O.S – Commandement des Opérations Spéciales) have been deployed in the Iraq where they conduct, in all discretion, operations against the Islamic State. In northern Iraq, they played a major role with Kurdish fighters in the battles of Mosul and Kirkuk.

An interesting collection of photos of French special forces fighting in Iraq. The photos below show the French subsidiary acting in conjunction with Iraqi army and Peshmerga in the Kirkuk area and to the North of Mosul. The photos are reportedly dated from December 2016.

The FBI released never-seen before photos of the 9/11

Five al-Qaeda militants hijacked American Airlines flight 77 on Sept. 11, 2001. The plane was on its way from Dulles Airport outside of Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles.

The plane made it as far as eastern Kentucky before the terrorists took over the plane and slammed it into the Pentagon.

The FBI recently updated its photo vault with 27 images the agency took on the ground that day, as first responders raced to rescue the wounded and remove the dead from the shell of the nation’s symbol of military power.

Debris from the plane and the building are highlighted in the Mar. 23 release of photos. The attack killed 125 people in the Pentagon, as well as all aboard the flight.

The Boeing 757 took off from Dulles ten minutes early.

The events occured on 9/11 changed the US and the whole world permanently.
