The LIBERVIT Door Raider is designed to quickly and effectively breach various material obstacles when time is of the essence. In practice, it has proven reliable and effective and is now used by many elite police and military raid teams and rescue services. Its versatility and efficiency make it a valuable asset in various settings.

Introduction

The LIBERVIT Door Raider system was developed and introduced by the French company Libervit 20 years ago. Since then, it has undergone over 2000+ modifications. The LIBERVIT company has been in business since the 1970s when G. Cardona invented a hydraulic cutter to aid in the extrication of car crash victims. This marked the birth of the “LIBERVIT device.”

Only two years later, the “LIBERVIT device” received the gold medal at the International Inventions Exhibition in Brussels for its patent on the first hydraulic cutter using a mobile blade and two fixed ones. In 2000, at the request of the French RAID unit, LIBERVIT developed a special tool capable of breaching three-point locks. This tool would eventually become known as the Door Raider.

Design

The standard version of the Door Raider system is capable of breaching locked, armored, or barricaded doors and passages. It consists of a hydraulic pump, a hose, and basic and auxiliary telescopic cylinders that can be connected in series. The cylinders can be mounted either vertically or horizontally in relation to the barricaded passage. For vertical mounting, the cylinders are connected by a quadrangular plate that transmits pressure and allows for penetration, which can be easily replaced by hand.

Alternatively, a single cylinder equipped with a steel roller can be used for horizontal mounting by pushing it to create the breach. The penetration is achieved through gradual and constant pressure on the obstacle’s surface rather than through brute force. The hydraulic pump, powered by a 12 V rechargeable battery, generates a maximum pressure force of 70 kN and can operate for approximately 30 minutes before recharging. With compact dimensions and a weight of around 20 kg, the pump is portable and can be carried by hand or on the back.

The Door Raider system can be customized with cutting and expanding extensions and telescopic ladders, which are available upon request. These extensions can be easily attached to the hose of the hydraulic pump, increasing the system’s modularity.

The expansion attachment comes in two models, “E300P” and “E500P,” and can be used to expand grilles, open downward-opening doors, or apply thrust force in other situations. The extension arms can be extended up to 300 mm with a force of 36 kN in the “E300P” model or up to 500 mm with a force of 20 kN in the “E500P” model. The cutting attachment comes in two models, “LD1P” and “BP1P,” and can extend the cutting blades up to 250 mm. Cutting is done with a maximum pressure of 305 kN. The versatility and efficiency of the Door Raider system and the fact that it does not generate intense noise during use have made it a valuable tool for many elite units.
